About Mark
Mark J. Welter is a partner at Alvine Law Firm, LLP in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with more than three decades of experience representing people in personal injury and workers’ compensation matters. His work includes evaluating claims, investigating evidence, preparing demands, negotiating with insurance companies, handling mediations and administrative hearings, and representing clients in litigation, trials, and appeals.
Mark brings a distinctive perspective to injury cases because he previously spent 14 years representing insurance companies and their insureds in insurance defense, tort, and workers’ compensation matters. Since moving to the plaintiff side, he has devoted his practice to helping injured individuals pursue compensation from responsible parties and insurers. According to the firm, he has helped approximately 1,000 injured clients obtain settlements or awards since 2004. He is admitted to practice in South Dakota as well as several federal courts and the U.S. Supreme Court.
